The defect: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: TRAILERS. SOME OF THESE TRAILERS HAVE NON-REFLECTIVE SIDE CLEARANCE LIGHTS.
The risk: THIS MAKES IT MORE DIFFICULT FOR OTHERS TO SEE THE TRAILERS, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The remedy: OWNERS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH NEW REFLECTORS AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING JUNE 2001. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT MACK-LANDER AT 1-641-342-6036.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 MAGIC TILT BOAT TRAILER (N/A). THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE BOAT TRAILER TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR AN UNRELATED REPAIR AND THEY DETECTED THAT THE METAL FENDERS WERE THE INCORRECT SIZE WHICH CAUSED A PUNCTURE IN BOTH FRONT TIRES. THE SERVICE WARRANTY EXPIRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE DEFECTIVE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. THE CONTACT HAD CONCERN OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
