What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2019 Mack Granite (gr), grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Percentages are of component mentions. A single complaint can name more than one component, so these do not sum to the total complaint count.

What the reports in each category say, in the owners' own words
Powertrain (other)
Powertrain reports that are not specifically the engine or transmission — driveshafts, axles, transfer cases and differentials.
From owner reports, verbatim
The power divider lockout failed and the thru shaft broke. The driver was pulling onto the high way and heard a loud bang, there was a loss in power. The dealer confirmed the problem and all work was done under warranty. There were no warning lights
The driver was merging on the freeway and experienced complete loss of power. He was able to get over to the shoulder and out of traffic. One of the rear differentials had failed before when the Bull Gear rollers fell out and destroyed the differential carrier but luckily onsite. (Attached is the history of these failures) The truck was towed back to the dealer and was missing the rear drive shaft, which had fallen out on the freeway. This truck has had differential problems and had the differentials replaced multiple times before and since. The dealer performed all the work, before and after this failure. There was no warning before this happened.
Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
