2007 Mastercraft D4 Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

BOUGHT NEW 2007 MASTERCRAFT BOAT W/TRAILER. HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH BRAKING SYSTEM ON BOAT TRAILER. BRAKES ARE SURGE TYPE DISC BRAKES. BRAKES LOCK UP AND DRAG. WITH LESS THAN 2,000 MILES ON THE TRAILER THE OUTER BRAKE PADS ARE GONE. EITHER THE "KODIAK" BRAKE CALIPERS ARE FAULTY, OR THE ACTUATOR COULD BE AT FAULT. MASTERCRAFT COULD SEEM TO CARE LESS. THERE SEEMS TO BE A BLOG SITE THAT HAS NUMEROUS MENTIONS OF BRAKE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH MASTERCRAFT/KODIAK BRAKES. THIS WOULD APPEAR TO BE A ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. I HAVE SAVED THE USED BRAKE PADS. *TR
