1995 Mazda B-Series Truck Visibility Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the visibility system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Visibility reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT AND AUDIBLE ALARM DO NOT GO OFF WHEN ALL DOORS ARE CLOSED. BOTH DOOR SWITCHES HAVE BEEN CLEANED AND REPLACED AT LEAST TWO TIMES BY THE DEALER. PROBLEM USUALLY REOCCURS WITHIN A YEAR FROM REPLACEMENT. MILD HEAT/SUNLIGHT APPEARS TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE PROBLEM. ALARMS CONTINUE TO GO OFF FOR 1-10 MINUTES AFTER DOORS ARE CLOSED. THIS MAY BE MORE OF AN "ANTI-SAFETY" ISSUE, BUT THE AUDIBLE ALARM IS VERY ANNOYING AND MAKES IT HARD TO CONCENTRATE ON DRIVING. *AK

I HAVE RECORDS ON THE REPAIRS THAT NEVER FIXED ANYTHING. ALL PROBLEMS STILL EXIST WITH WASHER AND WIPERS COMING ON AT RANDOM TIMES.WIPERS NEVER WORK ON HIGH SPEED BUT WORK FINE IN LOW AND INTERMITTANT SPEEDS. EGR SYSTEM HAS FAILED ALSO AND BURNT THE HOSES UP. VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS HAD ENGINE MISS AND POWER LOSS IN THE 2200 - 3000RPM AREA.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
