The contact owns a 2019 McLaren 570S. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact became aware that the passenger’s and driver’s side door hinges were cracked around the mounting points on the door and the frame of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the door hinges had failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.

Both door hinges that support the dihedral doors have numerous fractures. If one of the hinges is to fully fail, the door would fall on the person, critically injuring or killing them. The manufacturer denied replacing the door hinges with the revised versions that are not prone to cracking under goodwill.
