ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Complaint Vehicle will not start after DC charging Warning in the instrument cluster related to High‑voltage on board electrical system The following fault codes related to stuck contactor can be found in the High Voltage Control units : PTCU ‑ N127 (Powertrain control unit) • P154900 ‑ There is a warning due to overcurrent in the charging system of the high‑voltage electric circuit. • P154A00 ‑ There is a warning due to a detected crash event at standstill. • P154B00 ‑ There is a warning due to a stuck contactor. DCB223 ‑ N116/5 (Direct current charge connection unit) • P0E8929 ‑ The input current of the on‑board DC charging connection unit is too high. There is an invalid signal. • P2BC500 ‑ The contact ''Positive terminal'' of the contactor in the on‑board DC current charge‑connection unit is jammed closed • P2BCC00 ‑ The contact ''Negative terminal'' of the contactor in the onboard DC current charge‑connection unit is jammed closed. Instrument cluster warning messages : Cause • Current ripple due to EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) • Overcurrent or Overvoltage due to EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) • DCB contactors did not open immediately due to welding time at the end of DC charging Remedy • Check for a new software availability for DCCU (N116/5 ‑ Direct Current Charge connection Unit). If a new software is available, update the software first. • Reset contactor fault through special procedure without password. ( N116/5 >> Special Procedure >> Resetting of contactor fault.) Important Note : • Do not replace component DCB (N116/5) • If fault codes are not erasable, please raise a TIPS case and send it to HQ.
STEERING
Complaint Slight creaking noises when steering. Cause Noises may come from one or more sleeves of the horn contact plate. Remedy Remove the horn contact plate and check the sleeves for noise; see attached video. If necessary, apply lubricant to the sleeves.
VISIBILITY/WIPER
Complaint CEL illuminates and/or AC does not blow cold. Cause Potentially relevance to hardware and/or software Remedy Scenario 1: 1. If the AC does not blow cold air, replace compressor (if compressor's index and part number Figure 1 match against Table 1). a. If the compressor does not fall within Table 1, please open a TIPS case. b. Flush procedure must be followed as per WIS. Scenario 2: 1. If AC does blow cold. a. Follow the following procedure: i. Have the air conditioning system recharged. ii. Clear the fault codes afterward. iii. Let the vehicle stand for 8 hours (OBD reset condition). iv. Check whether the fault is still present. b. Open TIPS case with your findings and answers the following questions, send to the HV/LV inbox. i. When exactly did the MIL appeared (immediately at start‑up or while driving). ii. What was the ambient temperature, any special driving maneuvers, and whether the vehicle had just come out of a climate‑controlled garage.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
A software update will be performed that provides enhancements to the robustness and system stability of the communication module. The update is free of charge and runs in the background, which takes about 8 minutes to install. During this time, the vehicle can be driven without any restrictions, and the new software will be active with the next ignition cycle. Remedy MBUSA will conduct an OTA service campaign. Remote software updates are automatically downloaded and installed in the customer’s vehicle free of charge and do not require a dealer visit.
SERVICE BRAKES
Complaint Repeat workshop visit for vehicle vibration while braking from 60MPH. NOTE: Although the symptom is similar to a tire or wheel vibration, it is usually readily noticeable that it is distinctly different if it happens at all times or only while braking. Cause Although the cause of the vibration is most likely due to excessive lateral runout on the rotor or hub/wheel bearing, the system as a whole needs to be checked for other possible contributors. 1. Prior collision damage. 2. Excessive vehicle sitting times without rotating components. 3. Wheel bearing/hub lateral runout. 4. Wheel mating interface has been overtightened (did not follow WIS torque procedures). 5. Mating interfaces have been excessively modified (painted, gouged, bent, etc...). Remedy Read through the entire attached worksheet prior to performing. After performing, please review the final page and perform work accordingly. NOTE: This document is not pre‑authorization or otherwise dealing with warranty. This is intended for diagnostic purposes only. If there are any questions on how to proceed OR The work sheet has been performed and the vehicle has returned with the same concern. Please perform the measurements as seen in the worksheet again and open a TIPS case to the Body, Chassis, and Entertainment team.

Compare model years
Complaint and recall counts across every year of this model
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
