2010 Mercedes-Benz C 300 Interior & seats Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the interior system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Interior & seats reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO MERCEDES BENZ FOR A REAR TAIL LIGHT RECALL. WHEN I PICKED UP MY VEHICLE THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. NOTE: THIS WAS NOT HAPPENING PRIOR TO ME DROPPING MY VEHICLE OFF TO THE DEALER. I INFORMED THE SERVICE MANAGER AND HE DROVE MY VEHICLE BACK TO THE MECHANIC. THE SERVICE MANAGER HAD ME GO TO WHERE MY VEHICLE WAS ON A LIFT. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THE REAR BRAKE LINE ON MY VEHICLE RUSTED (METAL LINE) OUT CAUSING THE BRAKE FLUID TO LEAK OUT. ALSO, THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT SENSOR WENT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SEAT WOULD NOT MOVE BACK OR FORWARD. IN A PREVIOUS COMPLAINT I FILED TODAY, I INADVERTENTLY PUT THE WRONG VIN NUMBER IN MY COMPLAINT. THE CORRECT VIN NUMBER IS [XXX]. THE PREVIOUS COMPLAINT NUMBER IS [XXX]. MY APOLOGIES. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

PURCHASED CAR MARCH 2015 WITH A 3 YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY. INSIDE DRIVERS DOOR HANDLE BROKE (PLASTIC PIECE INSIDE DOOR I BELIEVE). DEALER CLAIMS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THIS BECAUSE IT IS COSMETIC AND IT WILL COST ME IN EXCESS OF $1100. TO GET IT FIXED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, ONE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO OPEN THE WINDOW AND FEEL FOR THE DOOR HANDLE TO OPEN THE DOOR. IN MANY SITUATIONS THIS COULD BE A MATTER OF LIFE OR DEATH. THIS IS JUST AS CRITICAL AS AN AIR BAG IN MY EYE. I BELIEVE THE DEALER SHOULD COVER THIS UNDER THE WARRANTY, AND MAY EVEN WARRANT A RECALL.

THE MERCEDES BENZ C 300W4 2010 HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE INSIDE DOOR LATCH.THE VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT AS A CERTIFIED PREOWNED FROM THE DEALER IN 2013. IT HAS LESS THAN 15000 MILES. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TODAY THEY KNEW WHAT WAS WRONG IMMEDIATELY. COST TO REPAIR APPROX. $1000. LOOKING ON LINE I FOUND NUMEROUS PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE IS AN OBVIOUS DESIGN FLAW THAT MERCEDES IS NOT WILLING TO ACCEPT. WHAT HAPPENS IN AN EMERGENCY IF YOU NEED TO GET OUT OF THE CAR AND THE HANDLE BREAKS? IN MY HUMBLE OPINION THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO. *TR

I WENT TO OPEN MY DOOR AFTER I HAD PARKED AND THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH BROKE. SO, I HAD TO CUT MY CAR BACK ON, ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN AND PULL THE LATCH FROM OUTSIDE THE DOOR. IF YOU LOOK ONLINE THIS APPEARS T BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2010 C300. *TR
