2017 Mercedes-Benz E 300 Brakes Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the brake system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Brakes reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

THE BRAKE PEDAL IS TOO CLOSE TO THE CENTER CONSOLE. THE SPACE FOR MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL IS ONLY ABOUT 1/4-INCH WIDER THAN MY FOOT. SO, IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION, WHEN TRYING TO LIFT MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL TO APPLY THE BRAKES, MY FOOT BECAME ENTANGLED WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL. BY THE TIME I FINALLY GOT MY FOOT ON TOP OF THE GAS PEDAL, IT WAS ALMOST TOO LATE. I ALMOST CRASHED.
