2011 Mercedes-Benz GLK204 Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

THE FUEL FILTER HAS A CRACK THAT RESULTS IN LEAKING GASOLINE WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS FULL. I FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR 2011 GLKS ALREADY IN PLACE FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT OUR GLK WAS BUILT A FEW MONTHS PRIOR TO THOSE REPORTED AS AFFECTED. HOWEVER, I AM CERTAIN THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE WITH OUR VEHICLE BASED ON THE DESCRIPTION OF THAT RECALL. NHTSA ID: 12V557000. IF THERE ARE OTHER SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE SAME EXACT MODEL YEAR CAR, JUST DIFFERENT BUILD DATES, I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE RECALL. HOWEVER WHEN I CALL DEALERSHIPS WITH MY VIN THEY DENY THAT RECALL EXISTS.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
