What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2007 Mercedes-Benz S65, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

THE WIRING HARNESS INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY CRACKS CAUSING A SHORT, WHICH IN TURN CAUSES THE HEADLIGHTS TO STOP WORKING. THIS HAPPENED TO US DURING A LONG DISTANCE TRIP AT NIGHT. THESE HEADLIGHT ARE NOT THE TYPE OF HEADLIGHTS YOU CAN PICK UP AT YOUR LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE AND CAN ONLY BE REPLACED WITH OEM PARTS. A WIRE HARNESS IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE AND AT OVER $1,900 PER LIGHT ASSEMBLY, MERCEDES BENZ SHOULD BE REPLACING THE HEADLIGHTS WITH THE DEFECTIVE WIRING. THE POSSIBILITY OF THESE LIGHTS GOING OUT AT NIGHT (IT HAPPENED TO US) AND CAUSING AN ACCIDENT IS REAL. I HAVE PHOTOS, BUT THE WEBSITE IS NOT ALLOWING ME TO LOAD. THE BROWSE BUTTON DOES NOT DO ANYTHING...
