Our database holds 2 NHTSA owner-reported complaints for the 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLK55. Each one is a report filed by an owner or driver and published by NHTSA without most of them being verified. A complaint is not a confirmed defect, not a recall and not a manufacturer bulletin. Narratives are shown exactly as filed.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

TAKATA RECALL: RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE FROM MERCEDES BENZ IN FEBRUARY, BUT THEY HAVE NO REPLACEMENT PART AT THIS TIME. I NEED THE USE OF VEHICLE, BUT AM AFRAID TO USE BECAUSE OF THE RECALL. MERCEDES BENZ IS NOT DOING ANYTHING FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS AS THEY ARE SAYING THE CAR SHOULD BE SAFE TO DRIVE. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO GET A LOANER VEHICLE OR GET MB AND TAKATA TO COME UP WITH REPLACEMENT PART OR REIMBURSEMENT FOR LOST USE OF VEHICLE?
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
