What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2006 Mitsubishi Raider, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Hi- We have been trying to get our Mitsubishi Raider 2006 recall for an exploding sharp metal pieces that can cause death fixed with zero help. We have been without a car for over one year due to being ignored by Mitsubishi Corporate and our closest Mitsubishi Cutter Dealership. We live on an island in Hawaii that does not have a dealership so car must be shipped to Oahu to be repaired. Talked to manager at Cutter Mitsubishi many times and she said it’s Mitsubishis problem to figure out. Mitsubishi Corporate has been contacted at least 4 times with nobody contacting me back. Case worker [XXX] has completely ignored my case. Called recall number and have filed 5 cases now with no response. I will have to file a lawsuit to get help. Can someone please call [XXX] @ [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN SERIOUS OFFSET HEAD ON CRASH WITH A FULL SIZE CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE SIDE APRON AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY ON BOTH SIDES. BOTH VEHICLES WERE TRAVELING STRAIGHT ON A TWO LANE RURAL ROAD WITH A SPEED LIMIT OF 45MPH. DON'T KNOW ACTUAL VEHICLE SPEEDS. CHEVROLET VEERED INTO THE OPPOSITE LANE AND STRUCK THE MITSUBISHI RAIDER XLS TRAVELING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. I BELIEVE THE FAILURE OF THE DRIVER SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG CONTRIBUTED TO THE SERIOUSNESS OF THE MITSUBISHI DRIVERS INJURIES.
Electrical
Reports naming the electrical system — wiring, battery, charging, control modules, infotainment and electrical accessories.

THESE PARTS WERE ON RECALL, I SET UP MY APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALERSHIP. CALLED TO VERIFY APPOINTMENT AND WAS TOLD IT WAS CANCELLED, THE RECALLED AIR BAG PARTS ARE ALSO ON RECALL. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, I HAVE CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN THAT RIDE IN MY TRUCK. MITSUBISHI SAID THE DATE THE NEW AIR BAGS WILL BE AVAILABLE ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. 2006 MITSUBISHI RAIDER AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:DRIVER SIDE INFLATOR MODULE NHTSA CAMPAIGN #15V313000 2006 MITSUBISHI RAIDER ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION:SWITCH NHTSA CAMPAIGN #14V795000 MY TRUCK ISN'T INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. ITS NOT RECOGNIZING THE KEYS OR THE VIN #. IT ALSO WON'T START SOMETIMES AND I HAVE TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL TO GET IT TO START. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION- AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE WHILE SHIFTING INTO DRIVE/REVERSE. LATER WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON NORMAL DRY ROADS, THE VEHICLE ENGINE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER WHO DETERMINED THAT THE GEAR BOX WAS FAULTY, AND A COMMON PROBLEM. I ALSO HAVE THIS ISSUE WITH THIS TRUCK. TSB #0635001 NHTSA ID #10019046 SUMMARY: SHUDDER WHILE BRAKING. VIBRATION OR SHUDDER IN THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. *TT- I ALSO HAVE THIS ISSUE. TSB #0516001 NHTSA ID #10018781 SUMMARY: NO ENGINE CRANK - LOSS OF COMMUNICATIONS WITH FRONT CONTROL MODULE. *TT - MY TRUCK HAS THIS TOO. TSB #137 NHTSA ID #10021743 SUMMARY: REPROGRAMMING THE PCM DRIVABILITY OR SENSITIVITY ISSUES CAN BE CORRECTED. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON FOR THIS ISSUE. AS WELL AS FOR TRANSMISSION HAS LOW VOLTAGE AND TRANSMISSION IS TOO HOT. LAST TIME MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON I HAVE 11 TRANSMISSION CODES. I DROVE IT FOR ANOTHER 2 DAYS AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF. WOULD COST ME A FORTUNE TO RUN IT TO BE REPAIRED EVERY TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. WHICH IS ABOUT 20 TIMES A MONTH.

While driving my 2006 Mitsubishi Raider, I was leaving a customer’s home with a load on my truck. The first issue I encountered was that the truck struggled to exit the driveway. Then, I realized I couldn't shift into reverse. Shortly after, it seemed like the gas line or speed mechanism malfunctioned. Suddenly, the truck accelerated uncontrollably, going full speed straight into a house.luckily I braked in time no accident no report just towed truck tó customers house with aaa after the incident
