What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2002 Monaco Coach Cayman, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

2002 MONACO CAYMAN. CONSUMER REQUESTS A RE-DETERMINATION RELATIVE TO THE PROVISIONS OF HIS PLATINUM COVERAGE SERVICE AGREEMENT AND REQUESTS REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES INCURRED. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE HAVING NEW SHOCKS INSTALLED, THE TECHNICIAN DISCOVERED THE CHASSIS TRAILING ARMS HAD A 3 INCH CRACK WITHIN THE DRIVER SIDE ARM. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED HIS WARRANTY COMPANY, BUT WAS INFORMED THE DEFECTIVE TRAILING ARMS WERE NOT COVERED BECAUSE OF A MANUFACTURERS RECALL THAT WAS ISSUED IN 2005.
I OWN A 2002 MONACO CAYMAN MOTOR HOME WITH A CRACK IN THE TRAILING ARMS WHICH I WILL HAVE TO GET FIXED OUT OF POCKET. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE RIGHT UNDER RECALL 05V053000. I ONLY LEARNED ABOUT THIS THRU FAMILY COACH MAGAZINE. WHEN I CALLED A MONACO & HOLIDAY RAMBLER DEALER ,THEY HAD NOT HEARD OF THE PROBLEM. FROM THE INTERNET THERE HAS BEEN SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THIS. THESE COACH OWNERS SHOULD BE NOTIFIED AS WELL AS DEALERS THAT MAY HAVE THESE UNITS ON THEIR LOT. SOURCE MFG.(541)9350308 HAS A FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM IF YOU NEED FURTHER INFO. I HOPE THIS IGNORED PROBLEM DOES NOT CAUSE ANY DEATHS OR INJURIES. *TR

MONACO COACH CORP. ISSUED A RECALL CAMPAIGN NO. 02V278000 THAT CONCERNED THE POTENTIAL CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM. THEY CONTRACTED OUT THE INSPECTION. IN LESS THAN 2,000 MILES FROM THE INSPECTION, THE BRAKES FAILED FOR THE EXACT SAME REASON OF THE RECALL. MONACO COACH DENIED THE COST OF THE SUBSEQUENT REPAIR DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED. *JB
