What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2002 Monaco Coach Diplomat, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

27" FRONT TELEVISION FELL OUT OF CABINET WHILE DRIVING. STRUCK DRIVER, NO INJURIES. MOTOR HOME IS 2002 MONACO DIPLOMAT, COACH # [XXX], VIN [XXX]. TOP OF TV IS TIPPED OUT ABOUT 4" AND HELD IN PLACE BY TWO SCREWS IN LOWER REAR AND TWO BRADS ON A FOLDING FRONT TRIM LEAF. APPARENTLY THE SCREWS WORKED LOOSE AND THE TRIN LEAF COLLAPSED ALLOWING THE FALL. THERE ARE WARNING SIGNS, IF THE USER KNOWS THEM, BUT NO WAY FOR THE USER TO RE-TIGHTEN THE RETAINING SCREWS. HAD THIS FALLEN DIFFERENTLY, THERE COULD HAVE BEEN SEVERE INJURY, OR AN ACCIDENT. THIS ASSEMBLY IS ALSO USED ON HOLIDAY RAMBLER MOTORHOMES. *NM UPDATED 07/16/2012 *JS INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
