2009 Monaco Rv Monarch Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

1ST INCIDENT - DRIVING MY 2009 MONACO MONARCH MOTORHOME WHEN IT STARTED RAINING. TURNED ON WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND THE PASSENGER SIDE WIPER ARM FELL OFF. STOPPED AND FOUND IT HANGING BY THE WASHER HOSE AND THE CAST IRON BASE THAT ATTACHES TO THE SHAFT HAD BROKEN IN HALF. I TOOK IT IN TO A MONACO SERVICE CENTER AND THEY ORDERED A NEW CAST IRON PART AND REPLACED IT. 2ND INCIDENT - WAS DRIVING THE SAME MONACO MONARCH MOTORHOME 2 WEEKS LATER WHEN IT STARTED RAINING. I TURNED ON THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER CASTING ALSO BROKE IN HALF WITH THE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE HANGING BY THE WASHER HOSE. I HAVE MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE DRIVERS SIDE WIPER CASTING REPLACED. IN BOTH INSTANCES I HAD TROUBLE WITH VISIBILITY AND HAD TO STOP UNTIL THE RAIN AND MIST STOPPED. THE 1ST INCIDENT HAPPENED APPX 7-20-2011 AND THE 2ND INCIDENT 8-3-2011. *KB
