Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component
Data refreshed
What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2000 National Rv Dolphin, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.
Reports by component
Ranked by how many owner reports name each component category
- Engine133.3%
- Fuel system133.3%
- Steering133.3%
Percentages are of component mentions. A single complaint can name more than one component, so these do not sum to the total complaint count.
Each component in detail
What the reports in each category say, in the owners' own words
Engine
Reports naming the engine itself — including stalling, misfires, oil consumption, cooling and internal engine components.
From owner reports, verbatim
ENGINE STALLING ON 90 DEGREE PLUS DAYS ABOVE 400 FEET ALTITUDE WHEN PULLING AND GOING DOWN HILLS. ALSO STALLING IN TOWN WHEN PULLING AWAY FROM STOPS, BUT EVENTUALLY GETS GOING. I'M CONCERNED IT MIGHT STALL OUT GOING DOWN A MOUNTAIN PASS, OR RAILROAD CROSSING. THE DEALER CALLED WORKHORSE AND ROB SAID ADD 6 OZ OF 2 CYCLE OIL TO EACH GAS FILL UP TO PREVENT STALLING. IT WAS TOWED TO BURT CHEVROLET JULY 15, AND THEY COULD FIND NO PROBLEM. IT USUALLY TAKES ABOUT A 100 MILE DRIVE BEFORE IT ACTS UP.*AK

NOTICED FUEL RUNNING DOWN BOTH SIDES OF THE GAS TANK. TOOK IT TO HOLMEN MOTORS IN BATAVIA OHIO FOR REPAIR. THEY DROPPED THE GAS TANK AND REPLACED "DRY ROTTED" FUEL LINES. IT HAS NOT LEAKED TO DATE.*AK
