1994 Nissan 240SX Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

WHEN I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN MARCH OF 2000 I WAS UNAWARE OF THE MANY PROBLEMS. THE FIRST NOTICED WAS THE INTERIOR LIGHT BOUNCED ON WHEN EVER I DROVE OVER A BUMP AT ANY SPEED. THE SECOND WAS THE SHAKING AT 35MPH. NEXT I WENT TO GET GAS AND THE GAS RELEASE DID NOT OPEN THE DOOR. I ASSUME THE CABLE IS BROKEN YET THE TRUNK OPENS. ANOTHER PROBLEM A FEW WEEKS LATER, THE INTERIOR DOOR PANELS BEGAN TO PULL AWAY FROM THE DOOR, WHEN PULLING HTE DOOR CLOSED THE ENTIRE INTERIOR PANEL MOVES FIRST THEN THE DOOR FOLLOWS. THE REAR SUSPENSION FEELS AWKWARD, IT SEEMS TO SLIDE OVER CERTAIN ROAD CONDITIONS AND DOES NOT HANDLE AS WELL AS EXPECTED. I PREVIOULSY OWNED A 1991 NISSAN 240SX COUPE 5 SPEED. I NEVER ANY DIFFICULTIES FOR THREE YEARS, AND NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS. TO HAVE THE ALMOST IDENTICAL CAR WITH SO MANY PROBLEMS SEEMS STRANGE. I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR COMMENTS AND WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. *AK
