Our database holds 4 NHTSA owner-reported complaints for the 1994 Nissan 300ZX. Each one is a report filed by an owner or driver and published by NHTSA without most of them being verified. A complaint is not a confirmed defect, not a recall and not a manufacturer bulletin. Narratives are shown exactly as filed.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

THE CONVERTIBLE TOP HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, BRAND NEW. WHEN DRIVING AT SPEEDS HIGHER THAN 30 MILES PER HOUR, THERE IS SIGNIFICANT VIBRATIONS AND NOISE COMING FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP MECHANISM. THERE SEEMS TO BE A FAILURE OF THE COVERTIBLE TOP MECHANISM ITSELF. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO VARIOUS DEALERS AND NONE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. MOST OF THE TIME THE DEALERS DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH IT. I NEED THIS ISSUE TO BE RESOLVED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, AS IT COULD HINDER THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND MY PASSENGERS, AS WELL AS OTHER DRIVERS.
TRANSMISSION FAILS TO GO INTO 5TH GEAR. *AK
VEHICLE BURNED, FIRE STARTED IN ENGINE. TT
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
