2020 Nissan NV Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

From owner reports, verbatim

DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR THE FIRST TIME, I NOTICED IMMEDIATELY THE INSIDE MIDDLE REAR VIEW MIRROR IS TOTALLY UNUSABLE IN A LARGE VAN SUCH AS THIS, WITH VERY LIMITED VIEW OF WHAT OR WHO IS BEHIND THE VAN. IT SEEMS AN EASY FIX SINCE THE VEHICLE IS ALREADY EQUIPPED WITH A REAR CAMERA AND MONITOR TO HELP DRIVER WHEN BACKING UP AND PUTTING GEAR IN REVERSE. ALL MFR NEED TO DO IS KEEP IT ON FOR DRIVER TO KNOW WHO OR WHAT IS BEHIND HIM AT ALL TIMES WHILE DRIVING IN PLACE OF THE MIRROR. WHEN REFERRED TO NISSAN OFFICE, WAS TOLD TO REFER IT TO DEALERSHIP, WHO CLAIM SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT AND WAS TOLD CAN BUY A SEPARATE CAMERA AND MONITOR FOR THIS. I THINK THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, HAVING LEARNED TO DRIVE USING THE IMPORTANCE OF KNOWING WHO OR WHAT IS BEHIND YOU WHILE DRIVING. NO ACTION FROM NISSAN AND FROM DEALERSHIP FOR NOW.

Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
