What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1992 Nissan NX, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

DRIVER'S/PASSENGER'S SEATBELTS FAILED. DURING HARD BRAKING AND WHEN ADJUSTING IN THE SEAT, THE SEATBELT WILL POP OFF.
THE SEAT BELTS IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE DO NOT ALWAYS LATCH COMPLETELY. IN DEC OF 91, THE LATCH ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WAS REPLACED. PROBLEM HAS REOCCURRED. *AK

I AM WRITING YOU WITH A CONCERN REGARDING A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH MY 1992 NISSAN NX WHICH I BOUGHT NEW IN 1991. LAST FRIDAY I WAS RIDING ON THE BELT PARKWAY IN BROOKLYN WHEN ANOTHER DRIVER DROVE UP ALONGSIDE ME TO TELL ME THAT MY SPARE TIRE HAD JUST FALLEN OUT OF MY TRUNK. I WAS COMPLETELY STARTLED AS THERE COULD HAVE BEEN SOME MAJOR ACCIDENTS. I PULLED MY CAR OVER AND OPENED THE TRUNK AND FOUND THAT THE WHOLE TRUNK HAD RUSTED THROUGH. I WAS PRETTY SHOOK UP AS I CONTEMPLATED HOW LUCKY I WAS THAT THERE WAS NO ACCIDENTS. I THEN BECAME VERY ANGRY WHEN I SEARCHED THE WEB AND DISCOVERED THAT MANY OTHER NISSAN NX'S WERE ENCOUNTERING THE SAME PROBLEM. I DID HAVE A PRBLEM WITH MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER RUSTING AWAY A FEW YEARS AGO BUT DID NOT REALIZE THE EXTENT OF THE PROBLEM. I HAD NO REASON TO CHECK THE WHEEL WELL UNDER THE SPARE TIRE WHEN I CHECKED THE SPARE TIRE. I CAN ALSO SEND YOU PICTURES OF THE DAMAGE IF THAT WILL HELP YOU UNDERSTAND THE SERIOUSNESS OF THIS PROBLEM. *TR
