TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1993 NISSAN LONG BED (NA). WHILE AT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR REPAIRS, THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUBFRAME ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WAS CORRODED. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED DUE TO THE EXTENT OF THE CORROSION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,000.
THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM FROM DAY ONE BECAUSE OF CALIPERS FREEZING DUE TO RUST. DURING INSPECTION FRAME WAS WITNESSED TO BE BADLY RUSTED NEEDING CONSTANT CARE. GAS TANK HAS RUSTED THOU AT THE TOP & NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER FAILED AT 32103 MILES AND NEEDED AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR. IT NEEDED THIS REPAIR AT THE MOMENT IT LEFT THE DEALER REPAIR SHOP WHEN THE BRAKES WERE BEING REPAIRED FOR THE SECOND TIME, (WORKED GOING IN NOTICED THAT SPEEDOMETER STOPPED UPON LEAVING). DEALER SAID IT WAS JUST A COINCIDENCE! THIS VEHICLE HAD/HAS HAD SINCE THE BEGINNING 1997 - PRESENT 2014 THE BEST OF TL-CARE. NISSAN IS CRIMINAL IN DEALING & BEING UNHELPFUL BECAUSE THEY DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS AND EXPECT THE OWNERS TO BARE THE EXPENSE OF REPAIRS WHICH IS REALLY CAUSED BY NISSAN MANUFACTURING PARTS & FRAMES WITH POOR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION AND INFERIOR MATERIALS THAT DO NOT LAST FOR A REASONABLE TIME. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1997 NISSAN PICK UP XE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THEY TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR STATE INSPECTION, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE ENTIRE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE WAS RUSTED. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER IN REGARD TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER:11V244000 (STEERING AND SUSPENSION), BUT WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL WAS ONLY FOR THE 1997 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
1997 NISSAN PICK UP XE FROM SUSPENSION WHEN DRIVING LITTLE OVER 45 MPH ON THE RIGHT CURVE HIGHWAY AND START SHAKEN THE WHEEL. I CHECK ALL TIE ROD. BALL-JOINT BUSHING. ECT..... AND ALL ARE FINE AND I WONDER I FOUND A LIKE A CONTROL ARM A BAR COME WITH 2 BOLT AND NUT AND THERE SOMETHINGS LIKE NO BUSHING - WASHER AND NUT BOTHSIDE LEFT DRIVER AND PASSENGER..I TRIED TO LOOK FOR REPLACE AUTOPARTS AND COULDN'T FIND IT ANYTHING..ALSO I CHECKED "RECALL" ON THE COMPUTER ABOUT COMPLAIN AND THERE NOTHINGS. I WISH I COULD SEND YOU A PHOTO THAT'S I TOOK TO MAKE SURE. THIS IS VERY BAD DANGERING FROM FRONT END SHAKEN WHILE DRIVER OVER 45- 50 ON THE CURVE AND STAY AWAY FROM THE POT HOLE AND NEVER KNOW THE CONTROL ARM BAR MIGHT COME OFF. 12 VOLT BATTERY TESTING FOR IN-SERVICE VEHICLES SERVICE INFORMATION The following Service Information lists NNA procedural recommendations for establishing good connections while performing 12V battery testing. These recommendations are expected to promote uniformity during the connection process, therefore reducing the number of incorrect âTest with DCAâ and âReplaceâ results. HINT: If 12 volt batteries are allowed to discharge for a prolonged period of time, battery life may be drastically reduced. This condition may lead to premature battery replacement and customer dissatisfaction. IMPORTANT: ï· CPX-900 is now an accepted testing tool to use along with or in place of the DSS-5000 ï· CPX-900 operating instructions are found at: https://nissancpx900.midtronics.com/ ï· DSS-5000 operating instructions are found at: https://nissandss5000.midtronics.com/ ï· DCA-8000 is now a required testing tool to be used for all warranty replacement decisions. The DCA-8000 is also a more efficient charger than previously available, and will charge any available 12 volt lead acid battery safely and accurately as long as all precautions and inputs are made correctly. SILICONE-BASED LUBRICANT OR GREASE CAN DAMAGE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS SERVICE INFORMATION Do not apply Silicone-based lubricants or grease to, or around, any interior electrical components. To avoid the risk of death or severe personal injury, do not directly spray Silicone-based lubricant or grease, or inadvertently overspray Silicone-based lubricant or grease onto any interior electrical components. These types of lubricants can be detrimental to the proper operation of electrical components.
