1990 Nissan Pickup Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1990 Nissan Pickup, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

I AM REPORTING A DEFECT WITH THE SPEEDOMETER OF MY 1990 NISSAN PICKUP. I FOUND THAT DUE TO AGE THAT THE SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE DROOPS DOWN TOWARD THE FACE /DIAL OF THE SPEEDOMETER AND STARTED RUBBING. IT MADE CONTACT AND STOPPED INDICATING AT APPROX. 45 MPH THE FIRST TIME. THIS GOT MY SON A TICKET. I DIDN'T BELIEVE HIM WHEN HE TOLD ME HE WASN'T SPEEDING UNTIL I GOT A TICKET. THIS TIME THE NEEDLE WAS STUCK AT APPROX. 37 MPH AND WOULDN'T GO ANY HIGHER. I HAVE CUT THE END OF THE NEEDLE OFF TWICE SINCE THEN AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS GETTING READY TO RUB AGAIN. I HOPE THAT THIS WILL MAKE OWNERS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND MAY PREVENT THEM FROM GETTING A SPEEDING TICKET..DETNEGR T AG A. *AK
