The defect: Oliver Travel Trailers, INC. (OTT) is recalling certain 2016-2024 Elite I and Elite II travel trailers equipped with a Truma Aqua Go Water Heater with Burner Assembly, part number 77000-90400. The water heater burner bracket assembly may become loose, causing wiring damage and the flame to be misdirected.
The risk: A misdirected flame increases the risk of fire or burn injury.
The remedy: Dealers will replace the water heater burner assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed mailed December 3, 2024. Owners may contact OTT customer service at 1-888-526-3978.

The defect: Oliver Travel Trailers, INC. (OTT) is recalling certain 2009-2024 Elite II trailers. The towing coupler may be under rated for the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of the trailer.
The risk: An underrated towing coupler can break, allowing the trailer to detach from the tow vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will replace the towing coupler, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 13, 2024. Owners may contact OTT customer service at 1-888-526-3978.

SUSPENSION:REAR:AXLE:NON-POWERED AXLE ASSEMBLY

The defect: Oliver Travel Trailers Inc. (Oliver) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Elite II travel trailers. The nuts and bolts that secure the brake drum to the axle shaft flange may not have been properly tightened.
The risk: The improperly tightened axle bolts/nuts may affect the trailer's braking ability or result in the hub and wheel becoming detached from the axle, increasing the risk of crash.
The remedy: Oliver has notified owners, and Dexter Axle dealers will retorque the bolts, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began December 20, 2019. Owners may contact Oliver customer service at 1-866-205-2621 or Dexter Axle customer service at 1-574-295-7888. Oliver's number for this recall is 1ZP-ABC19-12.

Fire reported

Truma water heater fire: Model Serial No: DLE 60G 32123091 The water heater had loose internal gas fittings due to improper manufacture by Truma. This is our 2nd water heater with this issue. Flame shot out of the heater cavity heating and starting to char wiring.

Fire reported

The Truma water heater made loud booming noises when igniting. Upon inspection fire and flames were shooting out of the firebox and engulfing the controls. We shut down the unit by turning off the power switch. We had a new unit shipped to our location and installed by a technician. The old unit was shipped back directly to Truma for inspection . We have yet to hear back from Truma on the status of that investigation. This incident occurred in early January 2022.

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC; WHEELS

Oliver Travel Trailers Model Elite II. The axles used on this trailer are supplied by Dexter Axle. The axle model number is 6339056 is rated at 3,500 lbs. and is manufactured in Dexter's Georgia manufacturing facility. Oliver travel trailers was notified, by a customer, of a problem with one of these Dexter axles, whereby three of the nuts securing the hub and to the axle flange had come undone, this matter was rectified by a service appointment. Oliver travel Trailers became aware of a second issue with this Dexter axle model, this was raised by a different customer and consisted of replacing one of the nuts, this matter was rectified but raised a potential problem. Oliver Travel Trailers contacted Dexter to inquire in relation to the issues that arose. We determined that both axles were from the same batch manufactured by Dexter in January 2109. On checking our service records we identified another similar issue with one of the same model of axles that did not fall within that batch range. Oliver Travel Trailers reported that fact to Dexter and started an investigation into the matter. We determined that the torque range was between 45-70 ft. lbs. for the four bolts that secure the axle to the brake assembly. Oliver Travel Trailers began checking the torque range on the bolts and nuts in question on axles present on our, we found a number of bolts which were not tightened to the minimum torque setting, again this was conveyed to Dexter. the following day representatives of Dexter attended our Hohenwald facility and confirmed our findings relating to the torqueing of the nuts. Since then Dexter inform us that they have determined a time period for the scope of the defect which appears to be from the beginning of 2017 to the present day and this equates to 780 model 6339056 axles supplied to us. Dexter Axle are currently working on addressing the problem through an inspection and rectification program. model year 2017-2020 Elite II. See Attachment included.
