2007 Piaggio Bv 500 Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2007 Piaggio Bv 500, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

  • Engine133.3%

PIAGGIO BV500 THROTTLE CABLE FREEZES WHEN TEMPERATURE IS BELOW 30 DEGREES. THE CABLE MAY GET STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION(FULL OR PARTIAL SPEED) WHILE MOVING SHORTLY AFTER MOVING THE BIKE. I HAVE WAITED 15-20 MINUTES FOR THE CABLE TO DEFROST AS IT IS ABOVE THE RADIATOR, AND DRIVEN A FEW BLOCKS AND THE CABLE REFROZE AS THE WIND COOLED OFF THE CABLE. VERY DANGEROUS! BE CAREFUL OUT THERE. *TR

THIS IS FOR A 2007 PIAGGIO BV500 SCOOTER. THE SCOOTER HAS A TENDENCY TO STALL AT IDLE OR LOW SPEEDS. I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM RELATED TO THE FUEL PUMP. IT IS CREATING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC. I HAD A VERY CLOSE CALL WHERE THE SCOOTER STALLED WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BEFORE ENTERING THE ROAD. *JB
