ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:ALTERNATOR/GENERATOR/REGULATOR

The defect: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: FIRE TRUCK CHASSIS WITH CATERPILLAR 3126 ENGINES. THE ALTERNATOR CABLE WAS ROUTED OVER THE TOP OF THE ALTERNATOR, AND IN SOME CASES, ALLOWED THE CABLE TO MAKE CONTACT WITH AND WEAR ON STRUCTURAL MEMBERS OF THE ENGINE ENCLOSURE.
The risk: THIS COULD WEAR A HOLE THROUGH THE INSULATION CAUSING A SHORT CIRCUIT AND POSSIBLY AN ENGINE FIRE.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL RE-ROUTE THE ALTERNATOR CABLE ROUTING. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN DECEMBER 17, 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT PIERCE AT 1-888-974-3723.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING

All Roto Rays are warranted to the purchaser for twenty-four months from the date of service against defects in material or workmanship. During the warranty period products found to be defective will be repaired or replaced (at Roto Rays option) without charge. The defective light must be returned to Roto Rays, INC., 722 Park Ave., Herndon, VA 201·70. The light will be returned to the purchaser prepaid.

The GEN 1 Husky 3 foam pump from FSC is being discontinued. To keep supporting our customers, a conversion kit is available to install the GEN 2 Husky 3 foam pump in place of the GEN 1.
