This Slingshot help center article provides information regarding changing the oil on Model Year 2020 and newer Slingshot vehicles equipped with Prostar 2.0 engines.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
On some Polaris models equipped with a Dual Sweep Analog (C4) gauge cluster, dealers and customers may see moisture intrusion or fogging present in the gauge clusters, similar to gauge clusters in other off-road and marine applications.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Polaris has received an increasing number of claims for vehicles not charging. Testing of returned alternators indicates that the alternator was not the root cause and did not require replacement.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Polaris has received an increasing number of claims for vehicles not charging. Testing of returned alternators indicates that the alternator was not the root cause and did not require replacement. The terminal of the excitation wire may become opened, damaged, or pushed back during installation of the connector to the alternator, resulting in the alternator not charging intermittently.
POWER TRAIN
This Team Tip is to bring awareness to a new drive belt for Model Year 2021+ Slingshot vehicles. Updates to the Service Manual have been made to address the new belt tension spec and updated tension process. Model Year 2024 Slingshot produced after 2/20/24 will come with the new belt 3212345 installed.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Polaris has received feedback that the security system is not re-enabling after the vehicle battery voltage becomes low, or the vehicle has not been used for several days. As a result, the lock and unlock buttons are inoperative until the security system is enabled in Digital Wrench. An updated VCM (Vehicle Control Module) software has been released to address this concern.
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
Compare model years
Complaint and recall counts across every year of this model
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
