2000 Polaris Victory Problems
Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component
Data refreshed
What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2000 Polaris Victory, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 POLARIS VICTORY V92 MOTORCYCLE. WHILE DRIVING AND SHIFTING INTO THIRD GEAR THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED INTO SECOND GEAR AUTOMATICALLY WHICH CAUSED THE MOTORCYCLE TO SLOW DOWN IMMEDIATELY. THE MOTORCYCLE WAS TAKEN TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS WHO STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND THERE WERE NO RECALLS OR WARRANTIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 7,000.
SATURDAY, SEPT. 18, 2004 WHILE RIDING IN NORTHERN MICHIGAN MY 2000 V92C POLARIS VICTORY DOWNSHIFTED FROM 3RG GEAR TO 2ND GEAR WITHOUT ANY INPUT FROM ME. THIS PROBLEM WITH THE EARLY (1999-2000) BIKES HAS BEEN TALKED ABOUT ON MANY WEBSITES ON THE INTERNET AND POLARIS IS WELL AWARE OF IT. POLARIS HAS EVEDENTALLY UPGRADED SOME OWNERS MOTORCYCLES WITH PARTS AT NO CHARGE. THE COST ABOR FOR THIS UPGRADE HAS NOT BEEN COVERED. POLARIS SHOULD ISSUE A VOLUNTARY RECALL ON ALL MODELS AFFECTED.*AK
