2015 Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

PANORAMIC GLASS ROOF SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED. WAS DRIVING ALONG A FAIRLY QUIET FREEWAY (BIG DISTANCE TO CAR IN FRONT AND NO CARS IN NEIGHBOURING LANE). ALL OF A SUDDEN LARGE BANG AND GLASS FELL DOWN ON THE 3 PASSENGERS IN THE BACK. MANY SMALL PIECES AND A FEW LARGE PIECES. PASSENGERS WERE CUT, BLOOD VISIBLE. KEPT FINDING GLASS IN OUR CLOTHES' POCKETS FEW DAYS FOLLOWING. EVEN AFTER REPAIR, FOUND A PIECE OF GLASS BY THE WINDOW THIS MORNING. FORTUNATELY LITTLE GLASS FEEL IN THE FRONT AND I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OVER A SPEAK TO PORSCHE. THEY TOLD ME IT WILL NEED TO COME INTO THE SHOP AND THEY WILL FIGURE OUT WHAT WENT WRONG. DESPITE BEING TOLD THIS WOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY ON THE PHONE (I ASKED MULTIPLE TIMES AND EVERYONE IN THE CAR KEPT TELLING ME TO), WHEN I WENT TO PICK UP THE CAR I WAS HIT WITH A BILL FOR PARTS AND LABOUR, RENTAL INSURANCE (THEY DID COVER THE BASE RENTAL PRICE). ALSO THEY ARE NOT SURE WHAT WENT WRONG, THEY SAY A ROCK HIT IT, BUT NONE OF US ARE ENTIRELY CONVINCED BY THIS.
