2010 Porsche Cayenne Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

TRANSFER CASE ISSUE. 2010 PORSCHE CAYENNE TRANSFER CASE ISSUE. I HAVE 260K MILES ON MY PORSCHE. I STARTED HEARING A KNOCKING NOISE ABOUT 3 WEEKS. I TOOK TO A GERMAN CAR SPECIALIST AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT, THE TRANSFER CASE WAS GOING OUT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE COST IS $5400.00. I AM A BIG FAN OF ALL THINGS PORSCHE, BUT THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSED ME TO TAKE A SECOND LOOK INTO BUYING ANOTHER ONE. THIS SHOULD BE AN ISSUE FOR RECALL BY PORSCHE. WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT IT?? I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON TO THE HIGHWAY VIA AN ON RAMP, THE KNOCKING FROM THE TRANSFER CASE SLOWED THE VEHICLE WITH TRAFFIC COMING UP FROM BEHIND. FORTUNATELY, IT PICKED UP SPEED.
