2002 R-Vision Trail Lite Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Our database holds 2 NHTSA owner-reported complaints for the 2002 R-Vision Trail Lite. Each one is a report filed by an owner or driver and published by NHTSA without most of them being verified. Fire reported

WHILE PREPARING FOR A TRIP IN THE TRAILER, THE SMELL OF HOT ELECTRICAL WIRES WAS NOTED. UPON SEARCHING FOR THE SOURCE OF THE SMELL, A FIRE WAS NOTED ON A PLASTIC (PVC) PIPE. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED, THEN THE SOURCE OF THE HEAT WAS SEARCHED FOR. OTHER MATERIALS WERE BURNED ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TRAILER. AFTER MOVING SOME INSULATION AND OTHER MATERIALS AND SOOT, THE SOURCE OF THE FIRE WAS LOCATED. THE CABLE RUNNING FROM THE BATTERY TO THE POWER CENTER WAS INSTALLED BETWEEN THE STEEL FLOOR FRAME AND THE WOODEN WALL FRAME. APPARENTLY THE CABLE WAS PINCHED BETWEEN THE TWO FRAMES AND EVENTUALLY THE INSULATION WORE AWAY CAUSING AN ELECTRICAL SHORT. THE DAMAGE HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED AS OF 9/1/2005. *NM
