What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2010 Radianxt 19500, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. THE HARNESS ADJUSTER ON MY RADIAN XTSL WAS GETTING STUCK OPEN FREQUENTLY, AND I THOUGHT IT WAS BECAUSE THE STRAP WAS GETTING STUCK OR OFF CENTER, SO I WOULD READJUST AND PUSH IT TIGHT. THEN ONE DAY, THE ADJUSTER SNAPPED OFF ON THE LEFT SIDE (WHEN STARING AT THE SEAT FROM THE FRONT) AND IT SLICED MY FINGER TO THE POINT THAT I WAS GUSHING BLOOD. I WAS TIGHTENING THE HARNESS AFTER PUTTING MY CHILD IN THE SEAT. THE SEAT BECAME UNUSABLE, SINCE THERE WAS NO TENSION WHATSOEVER ON THE HARNESS. I CONTACTED DIONO, WHO REPLACED THE SEAT AFTER I SENT THEM PICTURES. I AM A CPST. *JS
I WAS INSTALLING CAR SEATS AND WANTED TO INSTALL MY SUNSHINE KID'S RADIAN XTSL (DOM 01/2010) TO REPLACE ANOTHER SEAT THAT IS EXPIRING SOON. IT'S INSTALLED IN THE CENTER REAR-FACING, AND I WAS SITTING IN THE SEAT BESIDE IT. WHEN I TIGHTENED THE HARNESS I MUST HAVE PULLED THE STRAP AT AN ANGLE. IT ENDED UP GETTING TANGLED UP IN THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RELEASE LEVER AND ACTUALLY POPPED THE LEVER OUT OF PLACE. I WRESTLED WITH IT FOR A WHILE TO GET THE STRAP OUT OF THE WAY. WHEN I GOT IT STRAIGHT I COULD SEE WHERE THE LEVER WAS POPPED OUT. I COULDN'T JUST PUSH IT BACK IN. I KNEW AT THIS POINT THE SEAT WAS PROBABLY TOAST. I USED A SCREWDRIVER TO PRY THE LITTLE METAL PLATE WIDER AND THE LEVER EASILY SLID BACK INTO PLACE. IT SEEMS TO OPERATE NORMALLY NOW. OF COURSE I'M NOT USING THE SEAT. I HAVE CONTACTED DIONO ABOUT IT. I SENT PHOTOS AND THEY SAID THEY'VE NEVER SEEN THAT HAPPEN BEFORE AND ARE SENDING ME A NEW SEAT. PHOTOS ARE AVAILABLE. I AM A CPST. *TR
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
