The defect
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS. A HEAT SHIELD BETWEEN AN ABS (ANTI LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM) MODULATING VALVE AND A MUFFLER WAS OMITTED.
The risk
THIS CONDITION COULD RESULT IN LONGER STOPPING DISTANCES IN EMERGENCY BRAKING SITUATIONS.
The remedy
DEALERS WILL INSTALL A HEAT SHIELD BETWEEN THE ABS MODULATING VALVE AND THE MUFFLER.
