The defect

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CONVERSION VANS. THE REAR AXLE CAN HIT THE FUEL FILLER HOSE CAUSING IT TO DISCONNECT FROM THE FUEL TANK, SPILLING FUEL ONTO THE GROUND.

The risk

FUEL LEAKAGE, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, CAN RESULT IN A FIRE.

The remedy

DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE REAR END FOR SAGGING AND ENSURE THAT THE REAR END IS AT OEM SPECIFICATIONS.

OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN AUGUST 25, 2000. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT RIDE-AWAY AT 1-603-437-4444.
