VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORCYCLES WITH FAIRINGS. THE REAR AXLE COULD FAIL, CAUSING THE REAR WHEEL TO WOBBLE OR JAM.

THE CONDITION COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE.

The remedy

DEALERS WILL INSTALL A NEW WHEEL SPINDLE.

OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JUNE 14, 2000.OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT APRILIA AT 1-877-APRILIA (1-877-277-4542), EXTENSION 105. ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).
