The defect

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CLASS A MOTOR HOMES, MODEL NUMBERS 280, 300, 321, AND 340. THE FRONT SIDE MARKER LIGHTS WERE NOT INSTALLED AS REQUIRED UNDER FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT."

The risk

IF THE FRONT SIDE MARKER LIGHTS ARE NOT VISIBLE TO OTHER MOTORISTS, A VEHICLE CRASH CAN OCCUR.

The remedy

COACHMEN WILL INSPECT AND REPAIR THE MOTOR HOMES.

OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN OCTOBER 16, 2000.OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT COACHMEN AT 1-800-453-6064.
