The defect
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: VAN CONVERSIONS BUILT ON DODGE B-VANS. THE MOUNTING BRACKET FOR THE DRIVER SIDE ALUMINUM RUNNING BOARD MAY BE TOO CLOSE TO THE GAS TANK AND COULD PUNCTURE THE TANK UNDER CERTAIN CRASH CONDITIONS.
The risk
THIS COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF FIRE OR EXPLOSION.
The remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE DRIVER SIDE RUNNING BOARD BRACKETS.

OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN NOVEMBER 15, 2000.
