The defect

ON CERTAIN CLASS 8 CHASSIS EQUIPPED WITH R. H. SHEPPARD "M100" STEERING GEARS AND TRW "TAS65" STEERING GEARS, A POWER STEERING HOSE WITH AN INCORRECT PRESSURE RATING WAS INSTALLED BY THE FACTORY.

The risk

THE HOSE, WHICH CONNECTS THE POWER STEERING PUMP TO THE STEERING GEAR, COULD BURST OR LEAK, WHICH COULD RESULT IN THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST.

The remedy

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE POWER STEERING HOSE. OWER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JUNE 20, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT MACK AT 1-610-709-3337.
