The defect
ON CERTAIN TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH THE SPARE TIRE MOUNTING OPTION, THE SPARE TIRE MOUNT MAY FAIL WHILE THE TRAILER IS BEING TOWED.
The risk
THIS COULD RESULT IN THE LOSS OF THE SPARE TIRE FROM THE TRAILER, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH OR INJURY TO NEARBY PEDESTRIANS.
The remedy
DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPAIR THE UNIT FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MAY 10, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT VERMEER AT 641-628-3141.
