The defect

ON CERTAIN TANDEM DUMP TRAILERS, DUE TO IMPROPER MATERIAL USED ON THE AXLE SPINDLE, THE SPINDLE CAN BEND OR BREAK.

The risk

A BROKEN SPINDLE CAN ALLOW THE WHEEL TO SEPARATE FROM THE TRAILER, RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.

The remedy

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE AXLE AFTER TESTING, IF NECESSARY. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JANUARY 10, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT EAST MANUFACTURING AT 1-888-405-3278.
