The defect

TEREX TELELECT IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 1999 THROUGH 2009 TEXOMA 330 AUGER DRILLS WITH TELESCOPING POLESETTER EXTENSION MOUNTED ON TRUCKS. THE VEHICLES INVOLVED UTILIZED A HYDRAULIC CYLINDER TO ARTICULATE THE POLESETTER EXTENSION. THE VEHICLES ARE PRESSURE DIGGERS USED TO DRILL HOLES AND HANDLE POLES. THE EXTENSION CAN HAVE UNINTENDED MOVEMENT UP TO 4 TO 6 INCHES WHEN OTHER FUNCTIONS ARE OPERATED.

The risk

UNINTENDED MOVEMENT OF THE EXTENSION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO THE OPERATOR WHICH COULD RESULT IN DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY.

The remedy

TEREX WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND WILL REPAIR THE VEHICLES FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 16, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TEREX'S UTILITIES WARRANTY DEPARTMENT AT 1-605-884-3892.
