What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

Temsa Global is recalling certain model year 2013 TS30 buses manufactured in April 2013. Due to an improper heat treatment, the axle shafts may break.

The risk

If the axles break while driving, the bus could become stuck in traffic, increasing the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Temsa will notify owners and dealers will replace the axle shafts. The recall began on August 20, 2013. Owners may contact CH Bus Sales at 1-407-271-8935.

Notes

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
