The defect
Nova Bus (Nova) is recalling certain model year 2009 LFS transit buses manufactured January 1, 2009, to December 31, 2009. The affected buses may have an incorrectly wired main power relay circuit, causing the circuit protection to be defeated.
The risk
If the incorrectly wired circuit short circuits, there would be an increased risk of a fire.
The remedy
Nova notified owners, and dealers corrected the main power relay circuit wiring, free of charge. Owners may contact Nova customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova's number for this recall is CR1366.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
