What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2017 Dynamax Isata motorhomes, models ISC24FWM, ISC24RWM, ISC35DBD and ISC36DSD, manufactured May 19, 2016, to October 19, 2016. The affected vehicles may be missing a securing cable tie on the rubber grommet for the copper liquid propane (L.P.) gas line, allowing liquid propane to enter the cabin.

The risk

If the rubber grommet is not properly sealed and secured, there is an increased risk of propane leak and a fire.

The remedy

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the grommet and install a cable tie, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on November 21, 2016. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-262-3474 extension 203. Forest River's number for this recall is 55-10162016-0257.

Notes

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
