What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain model year 2018 Dutchmen Coleman recreational trailers, models 1705RB, 1755FD, 3015BH, 2605RL, 2305QB, 2515RL, 3025RE, and 2855BH. The affected trailers may have been built with incorrect wiring connectors at the air conditioner junction box.

The risk

The incorrect connectors may result in the wires coming loose and shorting together, increasing the risk of a fire.

The remedy

Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will replace the incorrect crimp style connector with a twist-on style connector, free of charge. The recall began on July 11, 2017. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 17-291.

Notes

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
