The defect

The risk
Bearing failure can cause wheel separation, increasing the risk of crash.
The remedy
PACCAR will notify owners, and dealers will disassemble the rear hub assembly, and install new bearings and re-assemble the hub, free of charge. The recall began June 22, 2018. Owners may contact PACCAR customer service at 1-918-259-3258. PACCAR's number for this recall is 18KWC.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
