What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Glaval Apollo, Commute, Concorde II, Entourage, Legacy, Primetime, Titan II, Titan II Low Floor, and Universal transit buses. A washer used in mounting the driver's seat belt assembly may break, allowing the seat-belt to separate from the vehicle.

The risk

If the seat belt end does not remain secured to the vehicle, the occupant will not be restrained in the event of a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

The remedy

Forest River has notified owners, and dealers will replace the seat belt mounting washers, free of charge. The recall began on July 2, 2018. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-343-5167. Forest River's number for this recall is 35-0751.

Notes

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
