The defect
Bwise Manufacturing (Bwise) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Utility, Car Hauler, Dump, Tilt and Equipment trailers equipped with Wallace Forge medium-duty adjustable mount couplers. The coupler may experience excessive play due to a missing .750" radius piece.
The risk
Excessive play of the mount coupler can cause the trailer to uncouple, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Dealers will replace the coupler, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 10, 2021. Owners may contact Bwise's customer service at 1-717-261-0922.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
