The defect
Stainless Tank and Equipment Co., LLC (STE) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Wurl Turner trailers. The attachment welds on the bottom of the chassis may develop stress fractures, which could result in frame separation.
The risk
Frame separation from the chassis can increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy
STE Service Centers will replace the front frame structure, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 18, 2022. Owners may contact STE customer service at 1-608-368-9663.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
