The defect
Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2021-2022 FCCC MT50e walk-in vans. The rotary shift position knob may malfunction, which can cause an unintended shift to drive.
The risk
Unintentionally shifting to drive can cause unexpected vehicle movement, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
All vehicles have been remedied, therefore no owner notification letters are necessary. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL934.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
