The defect
Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2023 Revel camper vans. The Tire and Loading Information Label has an incorrect tire size listed as R16, when the tire size should be R17. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
The risk
The incorrect tire size information could result in the wrong tires being installed on the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Winnebago will provide a new corrected label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 24, 2023. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885. Winnebago's number for this recall is 172.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
